2025 Summer Grand Production
June 13 – 22, 2025
All aboard, Austin, for the musical comedy of the summer! It’s time to set sail with H.M.S. Pinafore — the original rom-com of the high seas! Gilbert & Sullivan Austin presents the 2025 summer grand production at The MacTheatre at McCallum Fine Arts Academy over two weekends in June.
Only 7 chances to catch this laugh-out-loud, toe-tapping romp full of satire, sailors, and soaring melodies.
Steeped in tradition with a few twists, this classic musical comedy features an 18-piece orchestra and a cast of 24 – and feels just as fresh today as when it debuted in 1878. Whether you're a Gilbert & Sullivan fan or just love a good time, this show is for you. And as you’ll see: “love levels all ranks.”
Come experience what makes Gilbert & Sullivan timeless! Show dates: Fri-Sun, June 13-15 & Thurs-Sun, June 19-22. Evenings at 7:30pm, and matinees at 2:00pm. All Performances Supertitled. Reserved Seating $12-$42.
What To Expect
H.M.S. Pinafore's humour focuses on love between members of different social classes and lampoons the British class system. It also pokes good-natured fun at patriotism, party politics, the Royal Navy, and the rise of unqualified people to positions of authority. The style of Gilbert & Sullivan operas, particularly Pinafore, contributed significantly to the development of modern musical theatre.

We're very excited to be performing at a new location -- the MacTheatre at McCallum Fine Arts Academy, 5600 Sunshine Drive, ATX 78756. You'll also notice some changes to our ticketing process. Tickets will be 100% electronic this year, which will streamline the process both at checkout and at the theater. Also, the call-in center we previously used will not be available. As a result of these changes, your ticket fees at checkout will be greatly reduced, with fees for most categories about half of last year's. Please contact us at info@gilbertsulivan.org or 512-472-4772 if you have any questions or need any assistance in purchasing tickets.
